Not any one specific amp mind you but in reading it would appear that over the past year or so, SD EvoX amps have had their fair share of issues. My original thought was to pick up a a 2400.4 vs an 800.4 and a 1200.2 to save some coin and space in the fairing on the Street Glide. Truth be told, I'd be skeered about reliability after reading posts here, watching YT videos and various Google reviews. Granted amps take a pounding on 2 wheels but there are an abundance of issues, perhaps more than normal? Having said that, what other manufacturers would be on your "GO TO LIST" that produce RELIABLE amps ? Peace out.
Thanks are the SD Power Sports line any better? My main experience with power sports amps over the years have been in a marine environment and JL Audio wins. There is nothing more corrosive than a salt water environment and never had an issue nor anyone I know IF they were properly installed mind you. Granted JL's largest amp is a 500/4 so one would need many amps to power a considerable amount of speakers LOL.
Im looking at Euphoria EX4s. Im going to need 3. Thankfully I get a 20% military discount from Euphoria.
Three amps? Some of you must have some amazing systems. I was at Aspen sound in Coeur dalene Idaho and this guy had speakers everywhere.Even had a trailer with a bunch of subs.Impressive for sure.
Still up in air lol. Made changes to my original plans. The SD are so good size wise, the failure rate scares me. Although come to find out its due to fan placement on 1200s and up..
I still remained shocked at the reports of issues. I'm on my third SD amp, now a 1200.4 EVOX, and gosh this thing is a beast. I've never had the slightest hiccup. I guess I must be lucky.
my SD1200.4 2 ohm powering 2 gz coax and 2 Mmats 6x9's is so loud and clear I can not get above 50% volume until i get to freeway speed. It has been rock solid.
