Static through speakers
So I am attempting to finish my install but noticed I am getting a static sound through the speakers that gets louder as I increase the gains on the amp
I tried everything I can think of to rule it out so lastly I wired the new speakers directly to the factory speaker wires and It is still there. I haven’t flashed the radio yet and am curious if that would make any difference
I have ground zero 6.5 in the fairing and a euphoria fm100.4 with a hki mini dsp
any ideas what I am doing wrong or how I can get rid of the noise I know I can remove it with the dsp but won’t that affect the overall sound quality ?

I don't recall the answer for each component you have here... but the questions is... do they have common ground on the RCA or individual/static? (*static means stand alone/individual). This will cause a ground/loop = hum.
You say "static" noise? It's not a whine when the motor is running or a hum noise at all times, but an actual static sound?
What have you tried so far? The most common noise types are stator whine and ground loop noise. You could try searching those 2 terms here as this topic does come up fairly frequently, and see if there are things you might not have tried yet.
btw, what makes you think you can get rid of the noise using the DSP? (you probably can't) In fact, one of the most common sources of noise are poor quality RCA interconnects and part of the troubleshooting might be to try new cables and bypass the DSP

I upgraded the battery ground with zero guage to the frame and left the original battery ground in its location also and grounded the amp to the zero guage on the frame
I don’t have the dsp or amp installed right now. The speakers are wired directly to the speaker wire that originally connected to the terminals on the stock speakers

I wired the speakers that way right now to see if it would eliminate the noise I’m getting. This way I could tell if it’s coming from something I installed or if it came from the bike originally. The static is like a pink noise sound
ok, so everything is stock now except the upgraded ground strap and GZ speakers. Did you notice this noise when you were using the stock speakers? You are still using the original Boom! HU and wiring. Which HU, the GT or GTS?. The sound is like pink noise. Would you say it's more of a hiss than a crackling noise then? Do you hear it at any volume played on the HU or does it become in audible as the music is turned up? Does this noise occur using any source (BT, FM, MP3, etc)?
The flash of the HU is more to flatten the EQ and deals mainly with the low end so it likely isn't going to have any impact.

Gts radio on a 21 road glide and more of a hiss sound when radio is muted but can’t hear it soon as the volume is turned up. From what I have read I’m thinking it’s a ground loop but would a loop get louder as gains on amp are turned up ?

How far away from the speaker are you when listening for the floor noise (static)?
Was the floor noise noticeable before any work was done IE adding ground, replacing speakers??
When hearing the noise is there music playing and on pause or is it a station that isn't tuned in?

Here is something I noticed on mine. When I first installed my amp, I had to pull the RCA connections away from any other electrical connection I could to eliminate the static I here when the volume is down. Worked great until I rewired it and moved the amp ground from the battery to the frame. I'm not sure where exactly I went wrong, but I didn't have that noise while grounded to the battery. It's possible it could be something else, but that was my significant change.

sitting at riding position I can hear it faintly but once the amp and dsp are hooked up it is very noticeable. I know the dsp is going to make it worse but is there a way to clean up the signal being sent from the radio
I have read some people use the pac sn-1 and it has helped quite a bit
I can try moving the ground back to the battery negative terminal but it was doing it before I upgraded the ground and I was originally grounded to the battery but if that was the case I wouldn’t be getting the noise right now because I don’t even have the amp on the bike right now
I have both power and ground run down the backbone of the bike inside the plastic tunnel with all the bikes original wiring, don’t know if that could be giving me some of the issue .
I never noticed if the hiss was there with original setup because I never muted the bike I could be chasing my tail for no reason since I don’t often mute the bike but I’m worried if I set the gains on the amp it will be louder that I can hear it at low volumes
