Default Audio upgrade help?

Not sure if this is the right thread, and don’t bash me for these questions but I’m trying to learn. So everyone knows the stock audio sucks. I’ve got a 2020 streetglide and I believe I’m set on upgrading to a four speaker setup with fairing and lower upgrades running 4 Gzcf 6.5spl-neo and a Sound digital 1200.4-4. I’m wondering if this will be enough power to run them. I’m wondering if it will be ok to run channel to channel or if I should be running them “bridged.” If so how do I go about doing it? Since the speakers are 4 ohm wouldn’t that produce 2 ohm? Would the amp hold that? What size wire should I be running to the amp to support that power? Is 8 gauge enough? Is the stock wiring in the speaker pods good enough or should I put in better speaker wire? And finally what’s the equation and proper way to check wattage coming out of amp? I’ve got a volt meter but no specialty tools for this. Does anyone know a great amp mount for the 1200?

Did you buy the equipment already?
If you bridge the amp, you can only run 2 speakers. Running all 4 speakers on the 1200.4 (4Ohm) will give a good 200 watts to each speaker (when you set gains correctly).

The ONE thing I like about the Street Glides better than the Ultras is the air/oil cooling. I really miss being able to put some big fat meaty speakers in the lowers.

The bubblehead seems nicer when I'm sitting still in traffic but I believe I feel even more heat that I have to chase away with the wing vents than my old air cooled bike.

I have not, but I’m pretty dead set on running that setup. Heard quite a bit about it. I’m not 100% sure if I wanna add speakers to the bags later on, but for not I have lowers and fairing I already have setup for upgrades. I won’t bridge it if the amp has enough power, just heard a lot of guys doing so and wondering how with 4ohm speakers.

That amp should be enough for those speakers and run it 1 speaker per channel. (app. 200w per speaker) I would run 4 ga. wire to power the amp with a 60-amp fuse in line. I would set the HPF on the amp around 80-90 so not to distort the lows with that much power. Oxygen free wire for the power and speaker wire with a min of 18ga speaker wire. The 1200.4 should fit on the stock amp tray but you will need to get the HU flashed to either an 8/2 flash, rockford or soundz flash from a indy dealer as HD can't or won't do it. That setup should sound damn good when finished. If I may suggest, a mmats lsx 1400x4 is about the same price, much more reliable and in my opinion a better sounding amp with no annoying whine from a fan.

2nd that.

I had the 1200.4 - ran 8g OFC running 8 speakers...never had an issue.

Next time around, will definitely be buying the MMATTs over the Soundigital.

I was eyeballing that one as well...and their new 700 mini.

The mmats is $600 & the Ciciada is $750. Curious if that extra $150 is made up in quality or is it the "new hot name" in the motorcycle game being used to balloon pricing.
