Head unit upgrade
Head unit upgrade
I have been thinking about upgrading the head unit on my ‘18 FLHXS but do NOT want to upgrade from boom! amps. Is there an aftermarket radio that will allow that? Only reason for consideration is I would not mind Apple CarPlay.

most of the Soundstream stereos support Boom amps, look into these. I have the V2 and absolutely love it! I don't have Boom amps, but know people that have successfully integrated the amps with the new head units...

A used GTS unit will get you CarPlay and keep the boom. The HDHUsi is phased out and replaced by the WHD 14+. As Scott said the sound stream units typically support boom. The V2 does for sure. I have the WHD14+ in the better half's 16 RG. Exponentially better than the stock GT radio in every way other than no built in gps.
