Can anyone suggest a audio system for my Road King Custom. I would like bullet style speakers. I have looked at a few online and can only find good feed back on LanZar and Shark, cycle sounds has one response for feed back. Also as where as affordability Lanzar and Shark are way more affordable not to mention the fact that I can buy the new HD system for cheaper than the cycle sounds. Can someone help?
You can think about adding lower fairings on the crash bar with a 6.5" speaker in place of the glove boxes. If you were looking to change to hard bags, you could do the cyclesounds speaker lids which have 6x9's in them. Here is a write up on what I did, there are several others out there doing stereos, but most of them have street glides or ultras so they have fairing speakers and a head unit. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...ed-fender.html
Let me know if you have any questions, I did the full install myself.
i recently installed an elf e2125x amp and j&m rokker series 7.25 speakers in my streetglide. it sounded great for a day brought bike to harley for some work afterwars stereo still sounded great about an hour or so later amp cut off. i opened the fairing back up and noticed the red light on showing a problem. anyway now if i have the gains all the way down and turn radio past halfway the amp cuts out, if i turn gains up it cuts out less that 1/4 volume. any help or suggestions?
Call me at cycle sounds direct before you order or buy .... I'll hook you up with a great deal as well as a 100% money back gaurantee if we don't blow harleys kit out if the water ... Remember they copied our original design ..... 816-820-3046
I just bought the HD Boom bullet style speakers for $399 (ouch), but they look great in all chrome and sound great at 70 mph with other bikes around me. Easy finger conrols. Installation was a pain, but was worth it. I have a portable XM radio and the HD magnetic holder which sticks to the gas tank.

fairings and fiberglass hard bags are just plain wrong on a Road King ... IMHO
