I sent Dragonfly an email on 5-8-13 about their adapters and convertors in a kit that they sell.. this is the reply I jus got back today.. is this true or have I been reading on here different ??? Len
comments: HELLO..I WAS TOLD ON THE HD FORUMS THAT YOU SOLD SPEAKER ADAPTERS
FOR THE HARLEY FAIRING AND SAW ON YOUR SITE YOU HAVE A KIT WITH CONVERTOR
AND ADAPTERS, WILL THAT WORK TO SETUP A FOSGATE AMP AND POLK SPEAKERS AND
THE STOCK RADIO ??.. THANKS... LEN
they work they just don't line up perfectly, a lot of complaining on here has led to them just wanting to avoid it is my assumption. you could also drill new pilot holes for the speaker screws if you really wanted but it is not necessary. they are a nice adapter other than the holes not quite lining up perfect
You can get three screws through the speaker into the adapter with some doing. Four isn't an option. I am running with three and it seems to work just fine.
Smart move by them..... Most guys can make 'em work, but they cover their butt by saying they won't. Good marketing,.....that way they don't have to field the complaints from those that can't get them installed.
Quote from Dragonfly's updated eBay listing: "Will not work with Hawg Wired 6.5 Speakers and 50% of the Polk Speakers!!!!!"
"If you have Polk Audio DON'T Buy Our Rings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Their Speaker fitment in not accurate!!! Don't Blame us for a CHEAP PAIR SPEAKERS NOT FITTING!!!!!"
Interesting to say the least.. Wonder what's up with DFCC.. First they're telling everyone well simply drill new holes, now they're telling everyone to not buy them at all. Never here anymore, doesn't respond to emails...
