There is a TON of room for mounting fairing speakers. I had to use 2 of the 1" spacers , so that I could attach my tweeters to my Boston Acoustics, and still got the clamshell on.
My speakers, along with the spacers set REALLY deep.
These are my first choice with the Polk 6501's being my second choice.
Haven't heard good things about them. The efficiency, which isn't listed anywhere, is where the complaints are. If you are running 220 watts to them, I'd assume you'll be fine.
The weight, at 6.5 pounds each, also sounds like a potential problem.
For the money, and problems, I think that a better option can be easily found.
These speakers were released a few years ago, and seem as if almost everyone has discontinued them. FWIW

holy crap! can you say broken inner fairing screw mounts? remember there are only 3 screw mounts on the adapter rings to secure themselves to the inner fairing and those screw mounts are less than 1/2" in depth. Then the speakers will screw to the adapter rings.
if you don't have them already installed, then don't install them until you get the upgraded speakers installed. You may just find you don't need them therefore no holes in your fairing.
if you have them installed, tieing them to the head unit is perfectly fine however I'd suggest just connecting them with your front speakers to the amp. The way tweeters are designed, you'll not have to worry about impedance/ohm loads because they won't affect the load the amp sees.

Thanks bro, I think I'm goin with the pod because my fairing speakers are 6.5 midrange speakers with no tweeter. I heard the Power Bass and Pioneer midranges at the biker round-up in Tunica and fell in love with them. I ordered the power bass set, the SS amp and need to order a deck and the tweeter pod now.
Your knowledge has been extremely helpful.
