Yeah,I'm sure it's a matter of time before these things are going to be available on Ebay and so on.It's a wait game now

why bother with the boxes?

1. they are probably "tuned" to the crappy stock speakers that are in them

2. polyfil will do as good a job

3. with the fairing re-designed and the wiring routing being completely different, I doubt you'd get them in there without a lot of work

Since those pictures of the 2014 are mine, I can say with some authority there is no chance in hell to install those boxes on a previous model. I have removed and inspected the speaker boxes as well as tore my 2011 apart several times. First they are thicker and they changed the thickness of the inner fairing at parts. Also they are 6.5" openings, the old streetglide was only 5.25" opening.

You have two options. 1. Someone will probably make a retrofit look-alike version. 2. Install the baffling like many people on here do. When I put the baffling in my 2011 my sound improved incredibly.

As far as removing the fairing, its easier than the old fairing. There are 7 screws total and the old fairing had 9. The old fairing had 2 hard to reach screws behind the fender skirt. All you need is a T-27 driver. Remove the 4 inner screws first seen here: http://imgur.com/a/cFObf#8 then remove the left and right screws at the windshield. Finally loosen the windshield center screw by 3/8" pull the fairing back a little to slide the windshield forward and out. Then go back and remove the center screw, gently pull the fairing forward to reach the headlight connector. Disconnect that and set the fairing aside. Thats it.

To revive an old topic my question is this. Is it possible to swap the entire front fairing assembly from the 2014 onto an older model? If someone had the inner and outer fairings could it be bolted as a unit onto the older models? I'd like to do the swap but I don't want to buy the pieces only to find out its impossible. I noticed in the photo of the inner fairing I couldn't see the metal brackets that are in the older models, but if the attachment point on the fork legs are the same the brackets could be re-worked to be used on the new inners. Anyone have both models care to try and report back?

Might go deeper than just the fairing and innards considering the fork diameter changed too.

Everything is different from the size of the fairing, the inner switch cap, the way the wiring is run, to the bracketry (if that's even a word) for the fairing. Not going to work without some significant expense and time.
