These bikes have a very limited amount of output current available to accessories such as amps/lighting/etc. from about 1998 on up, roughly 1/2 the rated output of the charging system is utilized by the bike itself. Class A, B, AB amps are current hungry amps so as GP pointed out, not a good idea. Not to mention they get hot as hell.
Class D, G, H is where you want to be on these bikes.
Class D amps run more efficiently than an AB amp, getting better use of the power. Class AB amps run hotter too. Neither of the amps you listed will fit under the fairing, ( as far as I can tell),.....but that JL amp is nice.
Thanks for the info! What is a great 2 channel amp to power a pair of Hertz Hi Energy 6 1/2 coaxials? One that will fit in the fairing. I know that Arc and Rocford will work, but I'm looking for others also.
SS 2.350 blows away the RF power-wise. The only issue is Class D amps are known to cause FM interference issuse. The SS is Class D, the RF is Boosted Rail Technology so you wont have FM issues with it.
