mixed reviews, I was told by a local installer that he recommends dual 8in Kenwood Excel's. Others on this forum say larger, most say, no subs, use 6x9's....

Best sound for your saddlebags ? Use 4 Pioneer, ( 2way ), 6X9's with a good 150 watt per channel (4)amp.

What is your other equipment ??

Glacier is the guy you want to listen to on this subject. . . I know guys (Including myself) who installed just TWO of Glaciers Pioneers and said to hell with the subs . . .Both guys are in Daytona as we speak blowing people away. However, they just texted me last night and told me about a street glide down there with 8.8 JL voodoo lids that was insane. . . . But those things are expensive!! For the price you can't beat Glacier's Pioneers!

I am personally running a pair of Kicker 6.5 Marine Subwoofers, they sound great mounted either low or high, I originally mounted them in the bottom back corner of the bags facing the wheel but I recently upgraded the lids and now I have them in the lids facing me. I can actually hear them a little at 65-70 mph now, before when the were in the bottom I couldn't hear them as soon as I started the bike but I do have the Vance and Hines True Duals!

I have upgraded to the hog tunes amp speakers and tweeter pod. And I must say I'm very happy with it. Just need a but of bass. I think the 6x9 will be the way.
