Hey all, just installed an Arc 125.4 amp, with KRC focal 6.5 in the fairing, and HAT 5x7 in the bags of my CVO RG.
Sound is fabulous, took it for a short ripper the other day, weather finally gave us a chance to hit the highway.
My question is, while the focal's up front are loud as I need them to be easily, and the sound quality I find to be quite good, there is very little in the way of bass. Now I know a bike won't ever be a rolling 90's disco, but SOME low end frequency would be good. I'm guessing it could be as simple as adjusting the gains on the amp? I have to believe the 6.5" focal's are capable of producing a little "thump". The amp was pre-set when I ordered it, just didn't want to go through the hassle of removing the fairing again so soon to check the gains if it turns out the speakers aren't ever going to deliver..
If all else fails try Biketronics 7.1 speakers. You won't be disappointed.
You've got to be kidding !!!!
The Focal K2 Power 165KRC is a GREAT speaker. I'm not fan of FOCAL entry level stuff, but these speakers sound pretty damn good !! Might be the next addition to the GLACIERPEARL project !
This speaker isn't made for ground shaking lows,..............but polyfil will help !
If all else fails try Biketronics 7.1 speakers. You won't be disappointed.
hahaha well I've only got one 15 minute ride in with them, so don't think I'll give up on em just yet… Originally wanted them, but BT told me they didn't have adapters for the CVO RG available.. so went a different route.
I wouldn't give up on those speakers. There's a ton of air space inside that RG fairing so you need to tame that down a bit. Wrap each speaker in 3 layers, 15x15" square of the thin layered polyfil from Walmart crafts section.
And FWIW, BT has finally released the adapter rings for the RG fairings on the 7.1"
GP/UN.. oh ya they sound fantastic, just thought I would have gotten a bit more "bump" out of them, but the sound quality is the best I've had on any of my bikes.. granted that's been limited to stock hk, arc mpak, cvo boom, now this..
Guess I'll have to pull the fairing and play with the gains a little bit. May as well think about replacing the head unit. Any recommendations?
head units are a matter of preference. Only thing that IMO is a must on head units is 4v minimum RCA outputs. Buy what you like just get a rainshield to cover it up and USE IT.
