Default Headunits

I'm sure I'm in the minority here but I like the stock headunit on my 2012 SG. The reason why is, I like the look. I like seeing HD when I turn it on. And, I don't like seeing the flashing colors of most aftermarket HU's.

But, I'm curious, what's your favorite headunit and why?

If I had to go to an aftermarket HU, I want one which will compliment the clarity of my music;

The ability to support USB ports on the front of the unit;

I don't care for Pandora but I love streaming IheartRadio;

Bluetooth compatible;

Built in EQ; and

Able to read the display even in the sunlight

If I had to choose 1 headunit, it would be the: Panasonic DEH-X9600BHS

What say you?

I did a search on the model and it is made by Pioneer. It looks like it has 2 USB ports, but in the back. To each their own, but for less money I bought the Sony MEX-GS610BT. I like the 1 USB on the front, and one in the rear. I route the one from the rear under the gas tank into a rear saddle bag. The one one the front can be used for phone (streaming Pandora / iHeart / Slacker etc.). It has a 10 band EQ. plus 5-Volt pre-amp outputs. Also is BlueTooth but I've found that the USB connection is still better than streaming bluetooth. I bought from Crutchfield.

not sure about most others but I can put a cute little colored HD logo as my background image if needed.

I've always preferred the Sony DSX-S310BTX unit mainly because of the features and 4v RCA outputs. I switched to this Kenwood KIV-BT901 recently (about 3 months ago) and the more I fool with it, the more I realize I cannot achieve the same sound quality I did with the Sony. I'll probably make the switch back in the near future.

oh you have no idea what clarity is until you switch out that stocker for an aftermarket.

most have this feature in addition to some on the rear as well.

I didn't really care for it either until a buddy of mine turned me onto a Cajun music station.. Now she's my friend. LOL

ah.. much of the aftermarket units unless "marine grade" will be hard to read in the sun. My on that is simply learn to use the handlebar controls. You shouldn't be looking at your radio while riding anyways.

nice unit.. the only necessity is the 4v outputs, aside from that it's all about what you want in features and functionality.

I went with this one:

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_158GS50...R.html?tp=5684

Short money, 5 volt pre outs, cd player, rear usb cable routed to an Ipod in my saddlebag, front 3.5 input (for my mp3 if ever needed), 7 band equalizer, nice. I don't need to stream music, this unit does all I need. If it ever has a problem, then I'll get another, cheap enough!

Sure enough, I had one of these units. I just swapped out head units yesterday and am sending it back to Biketronics for a refund. I ended up with the Sony MEX-GS610BT. As far as I can tell, it is identical accept for the marine grade rating and $20 cheaper. I like the dual USB inputs (1 in back, 1 in front).
