Default Nighthawk border crossing

Just returned from an 10000 km trip including the black hills rally and decided to cross back into B.C. at the small crossing west of Osoyos. The queer looking Englishman asked if I had any tobacco or alcohol. I replied bottle of wine and carton of cigarettes. He then asked if I got them from duty free which there is none of at that crossing. I told him I bought them in S. Dakota and he then told me I would have to pay 20.00 because I didn't get them at duty free. I said I am allowed 200 cigs which is what I had. Rather than get into with the jerk and possibly have my bike ripped apart I paid but I would warn other bikers to stay away from there because I felt targeted because I probably interrupted him and his buddys afternoon delight. Rant over

Okay WTF is going on with this boarder crossing guard from England. He must of been upset and bothered that he had to leave his A/Ced post to check on this guys carton of smokes in the 30c weather. R U kidding me one carton of smokes. It does not matter that they where not purchased at duty free. He can buy them in any state. I just think it is a tragedy that the boarder crossing guards feel like they have something to prove. Just protect the frigin boarder. Who give a rats *** about 1 carton of smokes. What a joke. I think that he might be a better a school crossing guard then trying to protect the boarder. Look for the terrorist not for a carton of smokes

That border has nothing to do with security or protection. It is just an excuse to tax people to death.

I agree,it also is a haven to employ thousands of people who would be absolutely useless in the real world, not even the police or military would take them that is why they wound up there...

Seriously, he had a shopping list and smokes were at the top of the list. Give me the smokes or pay.
