Assistance please,
Engine idles and runs well with slow throttle roll. However, it hesitates or stalls with hard throttle roll. I cleaned carb, jets didn't look horrible and accelerator diafram appeared to be fine. Went through tuning procedures to no avail...

Suggestions, thoughts?

I got a 83' electra glide. Having same issue as you. Do you have a "e" carb. The E carb has a 3rd screw the accelerator pump.

 

Yes, Chasingdrakes. It's an E type and I followed the instructions on the accelerator, to no avail.
I'm thinking I need a rebuild kit, but am unsure, If it could be jet related.
So I am hoping someone will know whether straight rebuild will fix or if I need to replace jets as well.
Like I said, idles and runs fine so long as I dont hard roll throttle.

 

I'd put in a new pump diaphragm and spring first, clean out all jets and passages with compressed air. See if fuel is leaking around the pump shaft also and replace that rubber cover. Or just get a rebuild kit, probably same money.
