Default Vacuum bypass the petcock

i happen to have a dry tank, I have heard horror stories.
I took the valve apart, im thinking if I leave the spring out that might be enough to eliminate a future problem.

Is you goal to get rid of the "no fuel flow until vacuum" function?

Not sure exactly how to do the mod, but I heard if you take the petcock apart and move the spring to the other side, it will act like a normal petcock. I"m pretty sure you move the spring so it keeps the diaphragm open instead of closed. Google will help on that. I have also heard you can remove the guts and use just a solid plate, but again, don't have details.

Or just switch out to a conventional style petcock. YD

the spring and diaphragm must come out. then you make a gasket for the plate to petcock, if you leave it in, could have issues with flow. i MUST run like that because when i bring the rpm up and the vacuum falls, i cannot afford a lean out.

Get a Pingel, no reason to monkey around to get a stock part to do something it was not designed to do. Petcocks are not expensive.

well stock or not, this one has been kicking since 2001. cost dirt a** cheap, keeps it fueled at sustained high speed.

Do this. It works and your engine will not starve for fuel. I have modified two different ones with superb results.

On my friends sporty, I removed the guts and made a flat aluminum plate and gasket. Works great when in a pinch by you should just get a Pingel as Architect said..
