Getting a pre-Evo scoot
Where to start? So far all I know is I like the look of Ironheads, pans, and knuckles. So I'd like to build/restore a bike around one of those engines. I want to do this to ride and not for a show bike.
Are there places to go to get straight scoop on what's worth what and how to choose a good project bike?

Go to Asheboro & ask Ed @ American Heritage Classics (on 64 just west of 220).
He can tell you the oddities of each year as well.
He is teaching a night course in restoring old Harleys.
