What's it gonna take?! 2014 103" in a santee hardtail
What's up guys
Im working on my first ground up Harley build and I picked up a santee hardtail frame that accepts evo motors from 84-99. I knew this prior to picking up a 2014 103 complete drive train, thinking there's nothing a cut off wheel and a welder can't fix. I'm about to start mocking everything up soon, I was just wondering if anyone has any input for me before I start man handling this thing around. I'd love to get some info on why the frame is limited to 84-99 evos. Is it just that the mounting is different or are there other factors in play. Is it worth it to cut up the frame, or should I find a frame that fits the 103 and a motor that fits the santee and just build 2 bikes? What frames will the 103 bolt into? Im having trouble getting a solid answer as to what years and models I should be looking at if I were to get another frame for the twin cam.

You have a rubbermounted motor and trans. If you were to look for a frame to accept that you would need a rubber mounted rigid frame for a Twincam. Paughco sells them.
As far as putting that motor into the frame you already have. Google Twincam motor into an evo frame. The motor will bolt up with an adapter plate. However, the transmission will not work. You will need an evo style trans and all evo 93-up softail primary components.
