From what I have read about chrome issues, apparently a lot of people are experiencing swirls or spider-webbing in their chrome. I have also notice some spider-webbing in some of the chrome on my bike. Mostly in the mufflers of my bike.
It really does bother me somewhat, but is this a common problem most of us are having or is it the fact I don't know what I am doing when it come to caring for the chrome on my bike?
When you are looking at the bike from a couple feet back you don't even notice it at all.
And is there anything I can do to prevent the dreaded spider-webbing from appearing on other parts of chrome?
These problems are from shoddy chrome. Chrome is meant to be a hard protective finish for metal, not something you have to baby. There is nothing that you can do to prevent this.

Thanks xxx,I very much respect your answer and also respect the fact you are a Ultimate HDF Members.I suppose Harley cuts corners on their chroming process.
Not saying this is right but I believe harley has cut a little on there chrome. but i also believe part of the chrome problems people are seeing today is due to EPA regulations that have been changing in the chrome processing and it is affecting the quality of chrome being produced today.
I was discussing this chrome issue with a co-worker today and he told me back in the day, they would clean chrome with clean mud. You would slap some mud on your chrome, let it dry and wrap off. Now, you have clean and shiny chrome. I would have to say that's some tough chrome made from the USA.
I am not going to be putting mud on my chrome, but is this application of mud hog wash or was he telling me the truth?
You never know who to believe. Have a great evening.
