Leather Bag? Just spray leather cleaner on and let soak in a while. That should loosen them up and make it easy to remove. Follow up with leather conditioner.
Spyd, check this stuff out. Bickmore Cleaner I use the Bick 1 leather cleaner on my fork bag, barrel bag, seat, leather jacket. The stuff works great. It doesn't leave any shiny residue, it just cleans all the bug guts off really well. I just used it on my tonneau cover on my truck. You can find it at any tack shop. Stuff is cheap too, $5.00 a bottle. If you can't find any, let me know. Tim
Even though it is leather you could try Vinylex made by lexol. I get it a pep boys. Works great on seats, and any black plastic on your bike like switches and also rubber trim. I swear by this stuff and have for a long time. It also has sunscreen in it. My stuff always looks brand new. I think it's $8 a bottle. Ch
not to hijack your thread. but does anyone have any problems with there fork bags opening while you ride?
Yes I do, sort of. For me the inner flaps will often sneak out and need tucked back in. Usually doesn't cause a problem, anymore. I had to stick a leatherman tool inside the plastic bag I kept my insurance card in, because one time when those flaps came out, my insurance card and owners card just about got sucked out too.
With the leatherman in there weighting it down I don't have a problem, plus I try to keep the bags closed as tight as possible.
