Default Night Train

I have a 05 NT and am wondering what to use on the wrinkle paint that will shine and protect it. I also am looking for a good cleaner. My HD shop said to use S100 engine brightner. I looked on the can and it states "not to be used on painted or finished surfaces"

The wrinkle paint is a bit tricky since it is not smooth and you can not really polish it. Is the wrinkle paint located on the engine where it will get hot?

It sure does. I want something to protect while it's new so it still looks good for years to come.

As much as I hate to say it...I really don't know what to recommend for protection on a hot part like that. We have a wheel sealant that is awesome and last a long time on hot rims but not sure if they could withstand the heat of an engine. Would you happen to have a picture of the part?

I use the S100 engine brightener and it works great. I just make sure that if i do get some on the paint i wipe it off right away. but it makes the bike look brand new again.

Another vote fo the S100, works great and lasts for several washes.

If you do a search you will probably find that quite a few people rate it highly. I have also heard good things about a product called 'Pigsnot', but I can't get it over here so can't comment on how it compares with the S100. Also I believe Honda does a similar product to the S100, but cheaper. Again I haven't tried it because I'm very happy with what I'm using and although quite expensive a can will do about 3 resprays.

I haven't seen a NT up close so don't know for sure if this is what you are looking for or not. In a few other post here some folks (me inculded) like a product called "Glare". Anyway, on their site, they say and warranty the product for up to something like 650 degrees F. and that you can put the stuff on chrome pipes. I've done this to part of my pipe a week ago (very nice shine and now heat issues). So this product would take the heat.

www.glare.com (I have nothing to do with the company, just like the product line).

I had a Night Train for a few years, and the S-100 engine brightener works very well. Just clean up the black wrinke with some basic cleaner or soap/water, then you spray the S-100 on just like spray paint. Wipe off excess, especially from other parts, cause it picks up dust, etc.
