ok I get the dummy of the day award I guess. I tried to paint the inside of my new smoked tailight like another member had done. Well lets just say it didn't go very well. 1rst there is a little hole that aparently paint can seep into and get inside the lense itself well that wasn't the worst of it aparently i got a little over spary onto the lense and in a hurry I reached over to grab the wd just to losen the paint up a bit to help get it off and ended up hitting the paint with carb cleaner instead well I don't need to tell anyone what carb medic does to plastic. Anyhow its got like a soft layer of film on it now and I've tried a cpl differnt things so far to polish it out with no luck.
yeah, I don't think you will ever get rid of that film.
I suppose you could try wet sanding it with progressivly finers sand papers (I'm talking up in the 400's or higher).... but wtf,is it worth it? An exact replacement has got to be pretty cheap - specially on ebay
I'm sure we've all earned that award at one time or another! I have a Kury LED tail light and have to ask - what effect do you achieve when painting the inside of the light??? Very curious...
Layton I think I have another one laying around here if it dosent work out, give me a call. Post a pic of the seat also.. Hope the wifie is happy. Skip
Wife loves the seat. The biggest problem with the light is it looks scratched and when the paint got inside ( I learned after that there was a hole I should have taped off)the paint didn't set well and actually looks cracked and nasty.Heres a pic I took yesterday before the tailight got puton.
