Default what a difference a map makes!!!

So I finally tried out a new map in my TMAX and I'm not 100% certain whether it was a placebo effect, the cooler weather or the map actually doing its thing but holy handbags it felt like she was pulling stronger than ever - could open her up from cruising to WOT and she was on it, no hesitation, no pinging, just grunt... and from a standstill? haha, what a grin it gave me...

The indy originally installed map #784
Use on 103 engine with 9.0-9.5 compression using 96 OE heads/ dish top pistons, aftermarket cams

I loaded #872 as it seemed pretty close, considering the S&S106 I have with 10.0 compression...
Use with 106 CI Conversion Engines with 9.5 to 10.0 compression, Stock or ported heads, Stock Throttle Body-SE 4.89 Injectors, RS 577 or Similar Aftermarket Cams, 2-1 Exhaust

I set the injector calibration thingy to use stock size (3.91) injectors, ran the idle autotune 3x not 4, and headed out for a ride. Right away I felt a difference. Automapped twice while I was out and it feels great, starts better, pulls stronger and gets faster quicker

seriously, riding today was an ab workout

am i nuts or could it make that much difference?

When the map matches the build, you'll be amazed.. Tmax is an excellent tool.. Guys that really understand tuning with carbs will love it.. And.. No more gas on the hands...

cooler weather does help too. My bike runs way stronger now then it does when its 100 degrees out. HD do not like hot weather.. glad your bike is running good.

You mentioned you ran the idel autotune (IAC Auto) 3x not 4.....why not once after the map was uploaded yo the bike?

the procedure said to run thru the 4 rpm ranges a total of 4 times, keeping the temp between 200-300 degrees - by the time i'd finished the last rpm of the 3rd iteration the head temp was 302, so I just went out to ride rather than wait to cool down...

should I do the 4th today you reckon?

I didn't get the 4th IAC done today but I did manage to brake the back wheel loose gunning it out of a turn today... not the smartest move but it didn't have that zip a couple weeks back
