Default bike jack

hello, well i got a flat rear tire yesterday, and i have a jack that i used on my prev bike, a sportster, and now that i need to use it, first time on my streetbob, it wont fit or is there an adapter i need for it, or do i need a new lift, so once i figure that out, then first time removing wheel also so that'll be fun, actually kind of looking fwd to it, cause i won't take it to harley, it just needs tube replaced, which sucks cause tire only has about 700 m on it, i found 2 small tiny wire staple looking things in it. so any feedback will be much appr.

Might help out a little IF we knew what kind of jack you presently own.

Try a 2X4 14-16" long on the front part of the jack, under the frame.

Yes. Then you have three points of contact. Both sides of the frame on the front and the transmission skid plate on the rear.

I guess we need to trust and follow our gut instincts, i wouldn't be post this if we had, my wifes first weekend day off all summer, and i told her i've been wanting to take her up to the foothills where i found some nice riding, so in the the morning we were kind of hesitating, debating on going, but then we just up and went, made it up to the hills then on the way back, went thru a little town (golden, co.) that's when it happened, so if we just LISTENED to our gut i wouldn't be writing this, just glad it didn't happen on the highway or hills. sorry just venting!

Check out the "sears red jack modification" thread here in the dynaglide section.

Basically takes the lift pads and widens them to avoid hitting transmission pan skid/ keel on the frame, and have a much more stable hold of the bike. I think it cost me about $16 in grade 8 bolts, nuts, and a box of cheap washers.
