What did you do to your Dyna today?
Took my baby for a ride on Saturday, and when I got back, found that one of my rear turn signal brackets broke off, and the signal was dangling! Now, I'll have to find another bracket, or steal the one from my wife's bike, which was my old bike, and mount her signals elsewhere. Gotta keep Momma happy, though, 'cause if Momma ain't happy, ain't NOBODY happy, so may just have to buy another bracket.
Replaced and shimmed front motor mount. Pretty clear how much the stock mount had sagged. Huge vibe improvement.

That's a great comparison, and it shows quite well what happens to these rubber pieces over time. I'll be doing this same thing over the weekend in hopes of calming down some pretty bad vibes in the Wide Glide. Thanks for sharing!

It does look like it was due a change... I just checked mine, I assume it's the original mount because my Dyna had 22,022 miles on it when I bought it this past February. Mine looks just like your old mount. However, my engine vibes are nominal.
How many miles do you have on that engine mount? What does the rear mount look like?

Purchased my Dyna at 14k miles in January. I shimmed the OG mount at that time. Somewhere on reading up on vertical engine alignment, I ran across a sagged mount pic very similar to the one I posted and decided to just go ahead and replace it. Sure enough, with a new one on my bench, it made it clear that a replacement wasn’t in vein.
To be honest, I haven’t felt like I needed to remove the rear mount for inspection, so I’m really not sure what it looks like. I’m sure my ocd will get the best of me and I’ll go in for replacement on the rear sooner than later. It is 10 years old, don’t know why I’d think it wasn’t in the same shape. Although I’ve read the rear doesn’t wear quite as fast as the front?
Edit: The replacement mount is the HD part. I weighed the cost of $140 for the HD part that was on the shelf at my local dealer vs. ordering a cheaper aftermarket mount and paying shipping plus a wait time.

Like I said, I just got done looking at my front mount and it looks like the one in your pic, if not worst.
Since I bought this bike this past February, I've been doing maintenance to bring it up to the 20,000 mile scheduled maintenance per the Owners manual. I haven't been riding it much. With that said, I have not noticed an unusual or excessive vibration. (I think my 2012 StreetGlide vibrates more). I haven't tried to look at the rear engine mount, I hate to think of the work required replacing the rear.

I think you can get some extra ***** at the hardware store, and some thick grease, you should be good to go!
It's not that bad if you remove the rear wheel. More difficult if you're installing a Sputhe stabilizer at the same time, but still pretty straight forward.
The fact that you had to shim the new front mount indicates the rear mount has collapsed back. When you replace it, remove the shims in front.

Copy that, John. I’m sure the rear mount will get inspected soon enough.
