I believe the RSD have 1.15" of travel and the Burly has .8".

My buddy has a 2012 wide Glide that he's doing suspension on.
EDIT: never mind my stupid question...you just cut the spacer no more than your adjuster length can compensate for the cut off material.

Whether you need them really depends upon how often you pickup fat chicks at bars.

I also used stainless steel washers stacked on a stainless steel bolt with a stainless steel fiber lock nut...the head of the bolt fits in the inside of the cap and the end with the nut sits down in the spring. The bolt and nut setup made it much easier to get it all back together compressing that spring and getting that cap nut started. I ended up right under 3/4 inch preload and with the 15 weight oil, the front end is working just fine.

Not a stupid question, I have never installed them but I think if you are happy with the before install sag I would cut the spacer the amount that the preload adjusters take up when they are at the middle of their range. This way you can adjust up or down from a good sag starting position.
