Default rear light wiring question

Hi guys, I'm in the middle of making a lot of changes to my 2007 Street Bob. I'm going to eliminate the rear tail/brake light, and use the signals as taillights - brake lights - turn signals, and use a lit license plate frame for the plate.

My problem is that I'm not good with wiring, and don't know how to do this. I know that it can be done, but don't know where to start.

Any suggestions?

Does your 07 have the run turn stop module like the later models (i.e. Do the sigs come one when you brake)? If so, the rest is easy. The colors escape me right now, but you can find a wiring diagram online. You will have 3 wires going to your brake light, ground (black) and 2 others. One is running, the other is brake. If you aren't using the brake light, just follow it up to the connector, and remove the wire completely. Reroute the black and the other color to your new plate as the running light on the plate and you're golden.

I used the custom dynamics smart triple play to make the sigs run and brakes as well. I used a jig saw to fut my fender right above the center tail light. Then i cut the harness and spliced my new drag specialties signals. The right turn in purple and the brown is the left black is the ground red/yellow is brake lights oange/white is accesory (spare) blue is the running light.

All u should have to do is splice the turn signals into the proper wires. The smart triple play does the rest.

I used tag bolts with red leds facing out and white leds facing down to illuminate the liscense plate. I spliced the red tag bolt light to red/yellow wire and spliced the white leds to blue wire.

I used barrels and solder to splice with shrink tube over the splices.

Thanks. Sorry for the late reply. The '07 has the old fashioned set up, so I'll probably try something else.

Thanks again.

Thanks, I'll look into that. I'm planning on something similar to what you did, but with my existing bracket and turn signals. I'm guessing I'll have to get new guts for the inside of the turn signals so they're like the front with the dual filament bulbs. Is that correct? I will need a three wire setup to run taillight/turn/brake?

Thanks.
