Hello Everyone, this is my first time on this forum. I recently purchased a 1994 HD FXDS Dyna Conv motorcycle. The bike has been sitting for at least a couple of years. I've changed the fuel line, put in new gas, cleaned out the carb, new air filter. The bike will not start or idle without full choke. Any suggestions on what else I should do to get it going? Many thanks!
Yeah if carb hasn't come off take it out and apart. Clean jets out and the whole housing. I had a similar problem on my old sporty and the accelerator pump was clogged. Clean it all up and soak everything for a while. Be a good idea while it's apart to rebuild it too. I'm sure the diaphragms will be dryed up. Just buy a complete rebuild kit first
As long as you have the carb off, you may as well replace the rubber carb-to-manifold gasket, and manifold-to-head gaskets. Very likely they have hardened over the years and are sucking air, leaning out your fuel mixture and causing you to use more choke to keep the motor runnning. Hope you get it worked out.

No mention of the plugs. What do they look like?
You should also check the tires, depending how old they are you could have some dry rot or cracking. You can check the date on the sidewall. Do not ride on them they look sketchy.
