Default Springer front end

I tried researching this, but couldn't seem to find an answer. I have a friend who purchased a Springer front end for his '02 Superglide. He has since traded the bike in without installing the front end (still new in box). He has offered to sell it to me for a substantially reduce price. Here's the problem, I have an '06 Superglide. I know everything changed in '06 and normally would not consider anything from an older model, but this is almost too good a deal to pass up and so I am curious what it would take to make it work. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
