I have a 2015 FXDB and I recently bought a Power Vision and some Thunderheaders. But I made the mistake of buying it from PhatPerformanceCycles, instead of Fuel Moto. When I tried to return it [still in box] I was told I could only return it for store credit. So Im stuck without FM help.
I guess i'm really looking for basic tips and tricks on how to tune my bike to be performance oriented with the PV.
Also, if anyone has Maps they could send me that would cool too.
Im looking for a stock improved map for now [because it 4 weeks untill the TH's come] and then ill be looking for one for the TH's
I know I can do autotune but I want to autotune a map that isnt the stock map so that the autotune pulls me in more of a performance oriented direction.
TL;DR - Basic EFI Tuning tips and Tricks with the PV
-2015 FXDB Power Vision Maps
There are maps available on the Dynojet website to download - but if you just have the PV and haven't done the pipes yet, then the bike is still pretty stock so you might as well just start with the base map and autotune it a bit to richen it up a bit.
Once you have pipe and A/C done, then load up a corresponding Stage 1 map and go autotune some more.
But the best thing you can do once you have the pipes and A/C is to find a dyno tuner near you who knows the PV and go and have him do a proper tune on it....
You're fine. I purchased mine off Amazon ($80) less than Fuelmoto. Used the canned tune, followed by a 100 mile auto tune run. Now, I'm tweeking the decel fuel in 5% increments to eliminate popping. Have fun with the thing. It's a process, not an event.
I went onto the dynotune website and they only have maps up to 2012 models.
When you search for 15 dyna tunes it pulls up 2012 Switchback tunes because they came with 103's in 2012. It's the same motor, so all the tunes should work fine.
Any tip on further customizing tuned based on characteristics that your bike is showing, like popping. Ect.
There is a button on the device labeled, "quick tune" where several tables can be individually adjusted, fuel, spark, idle, etc. Popping is an indicator of a low fuel condition on deceleration which is one of the quick tune key adjustments. Increase your decel fuel in increments of 3 to 5 percent (with a test ride each for each adjustment) until your pop is mitigated being careful to not go too rich.
