Default Idle speed

Anyone find the idle a bit high on their '07 Dyna?

I've only got about 600kms (375mi) on my bike, if that matters.

Maybe it's just me, maybe it's the new engine. Just wondering if anyone has given this any thought.

Ray.

Mine idles about 1000 RPM after it warms up. I have seen 1200 first thing in the morning though for about 1 or 2 minutes.

I was told the engine needs to idle about 1000 rpms so the oil can be scavenged properly from the sump back to the tank-----jack

ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE MANUAL, THE TWIN CAM DOESNT MAKE MUCH OIL PRESSURE. THE IDLE NEEDS TO BE 950RPM OR HIGHER IN ORDER TO GET ANY OIL TO THE TOP END. MY 06 DYNA IDLES AROUND 1000 HOT.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

I don't have a tach, so I'm not sure where exactly (rpms) the idle is at. From the comments though, it seems like a bit high is better than too low, so I won't bother adjusting it at all.

Thx again,

Ray.
