Angry Harness access frame

Have a 2005 Dyna Wide glide and lost electrics on my left handle switches.
Chased the harness back and found the Deutsch plug disconnected with female end connector inside upper frame channel about 8 inches back.
I've tried to hook it and pull it forward but it won't budge.
I do not see any other access points on frame and wonder how such a terrible system was designed.
Service manual describes an easy pull out...but not the case.
Any other ideas as to how to access and pull forward this harness to give room to reconnect?
I've removed electrical box at fuse area left side of bike but it looks like solid frame all the way to base.
No other cut outs or access plugs in frame.

Help?????
Thx
Jim

There should be a service cover at the rear of the frame behind the rear tire. I had to take my belt guard off to really get my hand in there and pull the rubber cover off. Often the "service loop" or built in slack is tied together with a cable tie or cable ties to a little clip thing under the seat. You should be able to undo the service loop and pull the harness out the back a bit and that should give you the slack you need to easily pull it forward as much as you need to get to the deutsch connectors.

Heres a screenshot of the page from the 03 manual, should be the same on your 05. It was accurate on my 99 so I assume the design stayed largely the same. It's really too dark to see the picture well but the description is there you can probably find a picture searching "05 dyna service loop".

Managed to yank hard enough at existing conduit at neck to hook on to and pinch connector.
Barely got the plug on and extremely lucky.
Horrible design.
And extra access port on upper frame tube would have made things easier.

Thx

I see you already got your problem fixed. The harness slack isn't folded into the frame by the rear tire like it was with bikes older then 04. It is under the seat. You still have to take that inspection cover off so you can pull the harness out from under the seat and then pull it out from the front of the frame. I already had my wheel and fender off so it was much easier.

I have a video I made putting it back together. It still shows where it's at, just in reverse. I forgot to video the procedure from the beginning. This may help others in the future.
