ATF works well as a penetrating oil as well.

Since I found out about ATF working as a penetrating oil I havent use anything else. I keep some in a little needle dropper bottle on my tool box.

Maybe even dremmel two sides flat so you can grip better with vice grips. Double nut is the way to go.

You can also weld a nut (or anything at this point)to simply back out the stud.

Penetrating oil and a stud remover might work.

Kids these days with their fancy specialty tools.
When I was young, all I had was a rock and a string.

Kind of like a Chinese finger trap except with a twisting motion.
There are probably three spring loaded knurled bars that have an off center pivot and get closer together when the whole thing is twisted counterclockwise.
That is my guess.

use a wrench on each side too so you put even force on each side, this makes it less likely to break. Use compressed air to force that oil into the threads as much as possible. Your're really lucky it broke at the nut..

I broke the same one right off at the head last spring, I only let the penetrating oil soak for about 15 minutes, cost me over $500 to fix it because they removed the head for machine work. I was sort of mad cause they told me $100 to fix at first at the dealer and then they had the motor apart before telling me it was going to be $500 plus. I thought they would have the tools to get in between the frame & head but nope.

next time i'll put that oil on days in advance & not 15 minutes.

Same issue last spring myself on my 2010 Ultra Classic. Broke off below the head surface. Good friend supplied a set of heads he had that were already sprung for a cam, so I spent the money and bought a Zipper's big bore kit. 103ci, 525 Red Line Cam. Did all the work myself so no labor cost. That old girl came alive. then I fell in love with a Deep Jade Pearl over Vivid black 2015 Limited. Kind of wish I had kept the 2010.

PB Blaster let it soak overnight, then hit it with some heat. A stud extractor will make quick work of that issue. Good Luck!
