my gas cap rattles and vibes. i'm stalking a cheap flush mount kit of full tank swap, but til then... i need a fix for the rattle. any ideas?

 

Is the fuel cap gasket in place? If it is you could try swapping it out, # 61109-85D; should be all of 2 dollars at the dealer...

 

Mine did too. The top was real loose. A new gasket didn't help in my case. YMMV. I went with a flush mount and the problem was solved.

 

i just picked up a few at the dealer. we'll see.

 

Mine did too on my Fatboy. I squirted a dap of clear silicone under the cap.
That was over 12 years ago and still no rattle.

 

Some WG's had a recall on the gas caps. Something to do with the threads if I remember correctly.

I had the same rattle. I took one of my wife's hair ties and placed it around the gas cap. Rattle is gone. Quick easy fix.

 

My FXDC rattles like a ****... I'm going to try that...
