I know I saw it on the forum a few days ago, but now I can't find it. I plan on changing the pulleys on my FXDF. It has the factory 32T front and 66T rear pulleys. I've had some engine work done she and runs like a raped ape at 2.5K-3K+ RPM, but want an little more off the line without having to crack open the engine.
I was looking at doing an Andrews 30T front pulley, but for the life of me I can't find if I need to go to a 68T or 70T rear pulley so I don't have to get a different size belt. I'm also putting a wider rear tire on the back, 180 to 200. Going from the factory Dunlops to Metzler 880s. I am also upgrading the suspension from factory to Progressive HD in the rear and Ricor Intimidators in the front if there's enough $$ in the coffee can.
Neither. Your stock belt will be OK with a 2 tooth change. 68T and 70T will lower your gear ratio further and can be done at the same time as the 30T mod with no belt change.
The only mod discussed that you cannot do without a belt change is the 70T by itself. That would be a 4 tooth change:
30T and 68T is -2 +2 = 0 tooth change
30T and 70T is -2 +4 = +2 tooth change
30T alone is -2 tooth change
68T alone is +2 tooth change
70T alone is +4 tooth change - not good

i went with (believe it or not) a tri glide 30 tooth pulley. it's half the price of an Andrews. not to dis Andrews. they have awesome stuff. and a custom 70 tooth rear pulley from southern mc.best performance choice so far....
Without starting another thread, I'm about to order a 30T pulley for my 2011 FXDB, I'd like to do the 30/70 combo at somepoint. I've read that if you install the OEM 70T rear from an older FXDX, it requires different spacers? Anyone able to confirm/deny that?
