Hell yeah! Gotta let those horses run haha. i've been told that twin cams gotta be run a little high in the rev range and not to bog them down. I usualy do what others have already said, keep the revs mid range so you have power when you need it. You never know when that blomde in a camry is oblivious to everything and you gotta get the hell outta dodge. When in doubt, throttle out!

I cruise around between 3000 and 3400 RPM, the motor starts to lug once I hit 2900/2800. If I'm just cruising I think I'm shifting somewhere around 4200 - 4400 RPM.

How did you come to that conclusion?

I shift by ear. Too busy watching surroundings to watch the tach. Guess a guy could install a shift light, like used in drag racing, if overreving is of concern. But then a shift light on a street bike..? might look out of place. Noise>than power is a good call by other member IMO

Shift right before it hits the rev limiter, or after

I am so happy to see so many rev their Twin Cams!

I freak out when someone lugs it then punches it and later tells me how much torque the engine has.

Doing that basically hammers the bottom end as my friend found out who did it one too many times and had to wait months to get a new motor with the same VIN number on it.

Rev that engine. Overcome the oil tension, stop hammering the bottom end.

I am really happy to see the happy revvers.

I suppose you shouldn't let your wheels turn too slowly either, so you don't hammer your wheel bearings?

So your wheels have connecting rods which basically go up and down? I though that the connecting rods (which are scissor type) need some help from the flywheel to keep rotating when they get to the bottom and a higher rotational speed will help keep those conn rods from trying to push out the bottom.

But maybe I'm full of it and lugging your engine is good for it. From listening to a very few here maybe I should lug it and then I won't have to worry about pesky things like good brakes...
