Switchback 2015 Questions
I'm thinking of buying a used 2015 Switchback. I'm hoping any member here can educate me on the FLD Switchback. I'd like to know the PROS & CONS with the 2015 model. I've heard tell of a vibration issue with some Switchbacks? Has this been resolved with the 2015? Anyone with higher mileage FLD's care to add any comments? I'm getting older and think maybe this model may be a better fit for me. I'm perfectly happy to stay in the Dyna family. I really like the Touring & Street Cruiser appeal of the Switchback.

The vibe issues seem to be related to the long exhaust mount for the muffler transfering vibe to the bike. Best bet is to test drive the bike through the gears, Rev to 2800-3500, look for high frequency buzzing in the bars, seat or float boards. Many people smooth out the vibe issue with a clevis pin mod done to the front lower exhaust mount to engine (works well) or aftermarket pipes. Others have shimmer the front engine mount (simple to do).
That being said, I purchased a beautiful low mile 2014 switchback from a board member here, the bike did have a high freq vib around 2800 to 3000 rpm, solved the issue with loosing the exhaust mount points, starting the bike for 30 secs and re torque all the exhaust mount bolts. Bike is butter Smooth now. Google the issues or search the forum, alot of knowledge here on the issue. Don't let this issue scare you away from the FLD, it realy is a great bike. This is my first harley and am in love with it. Good luck in your search and remember to take it for a good test drive.

BUY IT! haha. Im biased to the switchback. I have a 2014 and love it to death. If you really want a TON of knowledge and opinions on the Switchback, check out the switchback forum dedicated to ONLY switchbacks.
A ton of posts on there on how to fix the issue while still having the stock exhaust or you can just buy an aftermarket one. Hope to see you there.
