Default Riser Extensions WCTB

Ok. I know this has been covered a few times but my issue is specific. I have a set of 10" Westcoast T-bars on my scoot and I'm thinking of going up two inches. The problem is the lip on the bottom of my bars. Now, the WCTB website says they have extensions that are specific to their bars. My question is, what makes them special? Also, does anyone have any experience with these? I can't believe they are almost $100 with tax and shipping. That is insane!

I agree that they look good but if it is true that the wctb extensions are specifically made for their bars I wanted to know why. Anyone have any experience with them? They do look good but so do others...

Also, how safe are extensions over getting just a taller set of bars?

Measure the width of the lip at the bottom of the bars and compare it to the diameter of the DK risers. If it's not bigger it'll look fine. If it is bigger, it will work, but it will look a bit odd I expect.

The DK's use grade 8 bolts that have some rediculous shear strength, so they aren't breaking.

I believe you're stuck using the WCTB extensions. Nothing that I know of on the market uses the integrated bushing cups like they do. You could try, but experimentation like this this on risers is something I wouldn't be interested in trying.

That is exactly what I was thinking. So I figure their extensions must seat in thier bars. But I wanted to know how or if they even really do. I'd hate to spend $100 just to find that I could have spent half the price on a good set of DK risers. I have sent them an email. However, I won't expect for them to respond. They aren't the best in customer service...Haha! But I must admit their product is top notch!

Measure the WCTB base...

These "Fat" 2" Risers are 1.5" OD...If that's same or larger than the bars...use them

EDIT:
Is this what your bases look like?

That's probably why they want you to use theirs...the recess

So for sure the diameter is more critical...same or larger OD riser ext
