2004 wide glide fuel injected. Got to palm desert to take the bike home. Fired it up ran great everything fine. Checked all fluids and everything good. Today fired it up started right up. Left to go get fuel made it 2 blocks running great slowing to a stop it died. Pulled over hit the starter button and it started to fire then died. Turned it off waited a minute turned back on and same thing fires up for about 2 seconds then died. Cranks just fine but wont start. Everytime i turn it off and back on i can here the fuel pump. Pushed it back to the house which sucked cuz its 114 degrees and parked it. Notice the fuel fitting where it makes a 90 is leaking a bit and some black crud is too. Any ideads?
Please help
Take the gas cap off and turn the ignition on to run without starting it, so the fuel pump cycles on. See if there is any gas sloshing around indicating a pinholed fuel line. As far as the black crud goes, did the bike sit for an extended period before you bought it? The leak may be caused by an unseated fuel line fitting there or broken o-ring.

Yes it sat for about a year but was ran every other week. I will check for the intank leak. Ill post up a pic of where its leaking from. Just weird to me that it was running great then just stopped.
So i pulled both plugs and both have spark its got air so my guess is fuel. Not sure what in the fuel system would make it start for about 2 seconds then die and not restart unless there is a blockage inline somewhere
Just my guess or theory why it runs few seconds would be fuel fills the line, when you start engine it sucks air into line from the joint where the leak is, when that air hits the engine (injectors) it stalls. When engine is off fuel runs back into line, a little leaks out at the joint, when you start engine again it sucks air into line again at that joint, ad infinum.
Just a theory, could be completely wrong, I often am.

That sounds plausible. I was able to get the quick disconnect apart. The upper part that Is supposed to slide up was jammed up and was just leaking once disconnected couldnt get is to stop so i pulled it out. The slide part sounded crunchy like u put rocks in a blender.
Hers is what came out
Now i dont know for sure but im gusseing that when i go to replace this piece im gonna have to open the tank to plug the line back in yes?

Yep, the open end of that hose connects to the output of your in tank fuel pump. Since its FI, it's a high pressure pump, so I'm not sure that the end just slips on, I would expect a clamp or fitting. The manual should show it.
Just looked at my service manual (2016 - so may be differences) and it appears that there is a connector on the open end of that fuel hose... Did you cut anything? I guess if you're replacing the fitting anyway, it'll come complete.
