I am going to swap out the factory grips for some aftermarket or different Harley grips and just wanted some opinions on grips that you had that were comfortable.
Sure I want them to look cool but cool and comfy would be even better. lol.
Also, I am a shorty with lil girly hands so 1.5 diameter is a must.
Looking at these Performance Machine grips right now... or maybe the new Harley Defiance grips.
I like my HD get a grips. I have small hands and they work for me. There thicker in the middle and tapered toward the ends.
I would second this, and they're available in Black/Black and Black/Chrome. I used them until installing a G2 quick throttle, which won't work with OEM style grips. But even then, I chose Biltwell grips that had a similar profile. The thicker middle section really is comfortable, at least for me.
I'll be honest most of the normal Harley grips will be similar size to the stock grips. I bought Pro Taper Pillow Top grips made for 7/8" bars. Boil them in water and they slide right on and they are much more lower of a profile than stock.
I had Get A Grips on both my bikes but they started to get junkie. The rubber was wearing bad and the end caps started to come off. I replaced them with a set of Avon grips which are way nicer in my book for the money (they are way cheaper then the HD grips). The end caps are held on with a screw on the inside of the grip and they sell replacement rubber...which will wear out. Plus they still have a locking collar on the clutch side grip so no glue or anything like the HD grips.
I've got those same PM grips, and I love them. They seems to be slightly smaller in diameter than the Get A Grips by HD. Either way, you'd be happy with either the HD Get A grips, or PM.
Been using PM grips for 8 years and found them to be very comfortable. Very high build quality as well. I've actually worn out a couple of the Renthal covers but they're easy enough to replace.
