I think it's your battery showing first signs of aging.
I'm assuming you looked at battery connections already.

Does a V INERR code come up on your odometer when it's doing it's slow crank?

Unless you get your battery load tested don't say it's good, especially if it's the original with the bike.
Good advice about checking battery and ground cable connections.

New Battery in Feb.

Does a V INERR code come up on your odometer when it's doing it's slow crank? How do I get this code?

It will come up automatically while the starter is attempting to crank the engine. Then it disappears as soon as you release the start button. At least that's what my street bob did a couple of times when it cranked real slow. I think the starter would even stall if I remember right.
Somehow it cured itself. I rode it 2 or 3 more years without the code reappearing, unless I just didn't notice.

Sounds like an aging battery. If you're getting a V INERR, that's "voltage insufficient."

I don't know about codes, but I do know about battery systems and you are describing a classic weak battery problem.

You have looked at the obvious so now you really need to load check your battery even if it is only 8 months old. Know for sure it is not the battery before tearing into your system. You can do a quick check by putting a volt meter directly across the battery terminals and cranking...if your voltage is dropping to say around 9.25 volts or lower, that will indicate that you have a battery/charging system problem.

I had one go ATU that was less than 6 months old...only there was no slow-starts, it just would intermittently not work. I am convinced it was because I kept it on a tender...I never used tenders routinely before and I do not anymore.
