Everyone has a different view on the cutting of struts, but I don't think I would "Do That" to an FXDX (I don't think you would/will either )

I just don't hold an 06-later FXD up to the same level as an 2000-05 FXDX (i know there's a 99 model) in regards to keeping original (referring to NON bolt-on parts)

My perfect HD in my head. I wish HD would come out with something similar. I would trade my 2016 in today.
