Default Tool kit

Just purchased my first Harley. Have ridden bikes all my life and finally got one! 2011 street bob. Had my first issue today... left my accessorie lights on and dead battery. No tool kit, so scrambling around to get the right tools to get the battery cover off. I need to know what are the basic tools to have on the bike for basic issues. Would like to put together a craftman's tool kit together for issues on the road.

I have a small nylon bag (about 6"x 2.5" round) with a 'lil Larry LED and one of those HD Swiss Army knife style tool kits velcro'd around my t-bars - can't see it behind my fairing. I added a small set of open end wrenches, a multi bit driver and a small hex set to a slightly bigger sack on in my RG bags.

I know HD stuff can be crap, but that little kit has most of what you'd need to tighten something up on the roadside. And it's tiny. Better then nada.

I've got a really nice little Harley specific kit from Chapman Mfg. Never had to use it, but it seems well made and compact.

Part #1903H. American made too, if that's important to you.

Chapman is good stuff! I didn't know they made a Harley kit...too bad nothing on my bike is original anymore.

I need allen wrenches and 12pt sockets for 90% of roadside services.

Make sure you have a torx bit that fits lever perches etc too. I had mine come loose in the middle of nowhere before. If it's your first Harley, keep blue loctite on hand. It's good for everything except engine, exhaust, high heat areas.

Fix It Sticks, packs very small. Works like a champ for little stuff. Add a 1/4" drive adapter and a few carefully chosen sockets/bits it will cover a lot of minor repairs.
