Default Oil usage

Has anyone on the board used Quiksilver full synthetic oil in their bikes? I live in an are where the temps are usually around 80-90. I used quicksilver in all of my Mercury outboards and was very satisfied, and I just noted that they make a 20-50 synthetic for the big twin. Just wondering if anyone has any comments on this oil. Thanks

My understanding is that the major Synthetics (M1 and AMS oil) have a higher than average amount of a couple additives for the air cooled V-Twins. The Quicksilver oil is used in a coolant cooled engine where the coolant is kept at a constant temp. with a water jacket. So an answer to your question IMO I wouldn't use Quicksilver in your motorcycle engine.

An old time parts guy at my local dealer told me the MoCo engineers would pick Mobil 1 if they could but something cheaper that still more than adequately does the job got the nod instead.
A little bit of research shows Quicksilver oil is actually a Citgo product, they don't have a market presence here in Australia so it's quality isn't something l can comment on.

I was not referring to their marine oil. They also make an oil specifically designed for motorcycle use

It's my understanding that Mercury manufactured the late EVO crankcases for HD in the 90's. I'm sure the Quicksilver Synthetic is a quality product.
