Default New shoes for the Fat Bob Question

My local dealer is having a 33% off sale on tires. I had called to ask about the Avon Cobra tires in 150 front and 200 rear. He was adamant that the tires wouldn't fit the Fat Bob stock rims. I went to the Avon site and discovered that the min/max rim width for the tires are 3.5 to 4.25 front and the rear tire min/max width is 5.5 to 6.25. How are guys here running those tires on rims that are 3.0 front and 5 rear. The tires are the Avon Cobra v71 and v72 tires. I'm a little confused, the rim widths are narrower than the min tire width.

Well hello there fellow Fat. Bob guy!
Im sure a 200 will fit on the rear. But the 150 front not so sure...That being said,,I'm thinking you'd be happy with a 140 up front 👍🏼

I've got a Cobra 150 on a 4.25" rim and I can't begin to imagine it on a 3" rim.

I've done both 180 & 200 Cobras on a 5.5" rim. Can't say either looked out of place (stretched/pinched).

Not all tires of the same size have the same rim specs. You may want to shop other models/brands.

Man do not try to save on your life, please get proper sizes and tyres for your ride, only things I never try to be stingy on is tyres and brakes, and helmets and clothing, thats all you got to keep you safe.
