Default Fat Bob tire help

Anybody running tires on their Fat Bob that are other than the HD Dunlop? I am looking for a good set of tires and I don't wanna pay almost $400 for the HD Dunlops. I see Dennis Kirk has Avons for $150 rear and $100 front. Are these good tires? And does anybody know if they are the same size as the stock tires?

Avons are good tires, mostly stickier than the stock Dunlops. As long as they are Front: 130/90x16 Rear 180/70x16, they'll fit fine from any manufacturer.

You can go wider, and play with the sidewall ratio but if you want stock sizes those are your numbers to look for.

I just got 12,000 miles on my stock FXDF tires and am very satisfied with their handling on both wet and dry. I'm going to restock with stock . . . soon I guess. They still have tread, aren't at the replacement point.

Can you even do larger than 180 in the rear without modding? I know there are some threads that talked about it.

May I ask what tire pressure are you running in them? I like the tires as well-even more after today! Came around a blind corner about 50 mph and seen a pile of dirt/gravel at the end of a driveway. Too late to brake so I squeezed the grips and never let off throttle. Those chunky tires went through it with a bit of a wiggle but all was well. If I had a 21" skinny 'pizza cutter' tire up front I think i'd of been doomed. Just a little wag from my awesome FatBob!!! Very impressed!

Yes, I personally feel these are a great tire design.

I'm running 36 up front (have never had to add air) and 40 in the rear the last year (two up riding was pretty common for a while).
