Default New Tires, option

They are the tires used on the 08-09 Fat Bob Dyna and are very close to the stock sizes on the 09 touring bikes, except the front is a 16" tire instead of a 17" tire.

What's your opinion of these tires on a touring bike?
Is the look too aggressive?

I like 'em, but you'd probably have to see how the weight limits on those tires compare to what is required by a touring bike.

The load ratings are in the zone.

427 Front 130/90B16 is 25.02" in Diameter and 5.31" wide on a 16 x 3.00" rim
677 lbs @ 41 psi (cold) with a load range of B
Rim width range 2.50" to 3.50"

427 Rear 180/70B16 is 25.90" in Diameter and 7.17" wide on a 16 x 5.00" rim
Rear is 908 lbs @ 41 psi (cold) with a load range of B.
Rim width range 4.50" to 5.50"

I love the way they look on the Fat Bob, but I'm wavering back and forth on what they would look like on a bagger. It would be a departure from the 18", 19" and 21" everyone is putting on the front of their baggers. I've always liked the fat tire look anyway.

lets see, you have an 07 ultra, that has road king mufflers, street glide mirrors and tri lights and road glide turnsignals..... now you want to add fat bob tires.. talk about an identity crisis!

the tires you are talking about using have a slightly higher aspect ratio than the 09 touring tires so they are gonna be a little taller. plus, being a 180 rear, it is not going to be a straight install on the back. but if you're willing to do what it takes to get that rubber in there, more power to ya.

i would like to see you write it up and post some pics......

But wait....... there's more!

I just completed adding Brembo Brakes from a 08 FLHT. No identity crisis, just doing what bikers have done for years, before there were all these aftermarket options. Taking what we liked from other models and adapting them to our our bikes and when the parts weren' t available, then fabricating the rest.

Look up "180 on an 08 Street Glide" Timberland is in the process of putting a 180 on his 08 Street Glide with the stock fender. I'm almost there. I'm going with a 4.50" rim to keep the tire under 7" wide, and I've been able to spread the rear fender to 7-1/2" Now offsetting the rim to center the tire is next.

Choosing tires, I want to stay with what I will find on the road easily.
I'm either going with the Dunlop Elite 3 front tire MT90B16 or 150/80-16 and the new 407 series 180/65B16 that Harley is putting under the 09 touring bikes for the rear............... or with these Fat Bob tires.

Yeah I know, I ride a different route than most.
