Default Daymaker Low/High Element Question

I bought a 3rd party LED headlight that resembles the Daymaker. When on low beam the top three elements give off light, but it looks like the bulbs are in the two side elements and the top element looks like it is just reflecting light from the other two bulbs. It looks like this when on low:

When on high the other three elements light up, but it looks like the bulbs are only in the bottom two elements with the middle element acting as another reflector of light from the other bulbs. There isn't a large amount of light coming from the center element or the other round element right above it. It looks like the image below when on high. Is this how the Daymaker operates?

It only looks that way because the side and bottom are more focused for intensity.
It's an optical allusion, Pun intended.

Seriously, seems to be correct & the true test is how it illuminates at night...is it Ok?

What light did you buy? I'm replacing mine and I'd like to save some $$ as well.
