Change the name of this forum from, 'Dyna Glide Models', to 'Classic Dyna Glide Models'; then, a sub-forum in the Softail Forum for the '18 - up M8 Softail Serengeti models...

Or, we could just leave everything confused; either way, I know where home is

But I add it needs to be done as a sub-section of the Softail section of the forum.
2018 - Softail section mostly due to the big changes happening in the bike frame not because three Dyna models where integrated in the range.
That's my thinking. The new gen Softail doesn't share anything technical with the old, so poorly titled topics could cause a lot of wasted clicks from the masses of old softy owners. It's really not a big deal either way, tho, as long as questions get proper answers and moderators aren't spending hours moving topics.

again...whatever...(this topic isn't Dyna-relevant and has probably been debated ad nauseum in Softyland anyway.)

The new model is a new generation dyna.

Probably not much in common with the previous generation of dyna's except the name.

It's not a Dyna; not even close. It's a completely new frame, and engine. The Dyna was killed by HD. Fact...

no, dey ain't. dey is softails. here let me demonstrate:
Softail
/sawf tay ell/

noun

1. motorcycles and bicycles that feature a hidden rear suspension system with springs or shock absorbers to absorb bumps. Softail motorcycles give the appearance of having a hard-tail or rigid frame, normally with the shock absorbers or springs under the motorcycle and out of view."

2. a small vessel propelled on water by oars, sails, or an engine.

3. the overall condition of small port town prostitute after naval shore leave.

I never knew the prostitute useage. That's pretty epic.

...and a Softail & Corvette are both types of boats. That's kinda cool, too.

Annd...randomness....

While I can understand that, this new model isn't exactly a "Softtail" either, in regards comparing it the Softtail model before. It seems like there should be a new forum dedicated to this new bike. The reason I bring this up, my father is looking for a new bike, he is 70+, and he is looking for a smaller bike than his old FLH. I would like to see if anybody is starting to make a new FXRT style fairing for these new bikes, but once again, it doesn't seem right posting that here or in the Softtail section.

What do you guys think about a new 2018+ Softtail section for these new bikes.

And before anybody starts ranting about why the new model, I believe the same was said about the FXR when it first came out. How it "betrayed" Harley's image, but now it is revered.

Thanks,

Dave
Wow! Don’t make fun of the new bikes, you might loose a toe!!!
