It seems like no one here wants the new 2018 Dyna models to be included in this forum. While I can understand that, this new model isn't exactly a "Softtail" either, in regards comparing it the Softtail model before. It seems like there should be a new forum dedicated to this new bike. The reason I bring this up, my father is looking for a new bike, he is 70+, and he is looking for a smaller bike than his old FLH. I would like to see if anybody is starting to make a new FXRT style fairing for these new bikes, but once again, it doesn't seem right posting that here or in the Softtail section.
What do you guys think about a new 2018+ Softtail section for these new bikes.
And before anybody starts ranting about why the new model, I believe the same was said about the FXR when it first came out. How it "betrayed" Harley's image, but now it is revered.
There needs to be a new section as there really are no 2018 Dyna models. As far as calling them Softails, that name still fits as they are still simulating the look of a Hardtail with a suspended rear end.

i agree 100%. I will say one thing though, I absolutely despised the 2018s when they were first released, however I find myself attracted to some of the features little by little. As a whole, they are not the style I would want to own, but I do believe they will grow on us as time progresses. But I'm still mad the dyna is gone lol.

Thanks,

First of all, there are no 2018 Dynas so why would the new models that ARE Softails need a new sub forum?
Harley calls them Softails. That makes them Softails.
The main problem lies in the model names. Fat Bob Dyna vs Fat Bob Softail.
I have no dog in the fight, but I think having a "Serengeti" (M8 Softail internal designation) section would be beneficial for both the Softail & Serengeti owners/buyers to keep technically unrelated, but similarly named, topics apart.

Pretty much both of these^^. Plus, they only have one shock, "down there" somewhere. So...Softail.
On the other hand, as long as we're wordsmithing the new names, since there's a Street called a Street Rod, and the 2006-7 VRSCR V-Rod was previously the Street Rod, does that mean that the Street is now a V-Rod, or does it mean that the VRSCR was really the first Street?
Discuss.

means we need a new subforum for street rods. ... vrod and street versions.
we also need a subforum for ham sammiches with jalapeńo potato chips and peach iced tea
But I add it needs to be done as a sub-section of the Softail section of the forum.
2018 - Softail section mostly due to the big changes happening in the bike frame not because three Dyna models where integrated in the range.
