Finally back to Dyna (2001 FXD)

Install the factory FLD footboard kit? Best thing I've ever done to mine. Very comfortable & plenty of room to stretch out & move around.
~$3K for that bike is a steal & the '02s are thought in some circles to be the best for longevity & reliability. I thought my old '99 FLTR ran well & was surprised at how quick the Super Glide was. A set of mild, bolt-in cams woke 'er up very nicely as well.

The FLD 'boards are "designed"/listed for the '06 & later bikes, but bolted up to my '02 like they were made for it. Think I had to buy one small cotter pin for the brake pedal pivot. The instructions want you to pull the primary to remove the old shift lever, but not necessary. I'll even send you the little bracket to bolt down the shift lever if you decide to go that route.
The factory shifter rod is cheesy as hell, so I replaced it with a nice Landmark polished stainless piece with the good heim joints. Shifting feels more precise & easier to find neutral as well.
There are several threads on here about them, if yer considering them.
